Sykes (headed by the Branding team) organized a philanthropic activity that’s education related. The company decided to rehabilitate a library in one of the schools in Tondo. To start with the project, the team asked for book donation from Sykes employees. They also asked for volunteers to sign up for the book covering and sorting and library painting activities. Anne and I decided to join. Fortunately, we were among the first 25 to enlist for the May 5, 2007 schedule. And so this morning we had to get up way earlier than our usual shift for the book covering activity. I am happy to have been a part of this endeavor. The inner happiness and contentment I experienced is priceless as I know have been an instrument for a good cause. 🙂
This is actually a blessing in disguise because for sometime now, I am considering of joining a group that organize activities to help others. I am glad that Sykes has it. It’s fulfilling to have a job but it’s a different fulfillment when you know that you are touching other’s lives because you are willing to share not only your financial blessings but your precious time as well.
