2018 Week 34: Wedding Errands Week

August 20-26, 2018

This was another wedding errands week, thanks to the sandwiched holiday last August 21. I took a leave from work last August 20 so that the BF and I can attend to some wedding related tasks.

On August 20, we went to Divisoria for h2b’s suit fitting. I have researched for Divisoria suppliers prior going there. I got one from the Girltalk forum. I communicated with her via FB chat prior the visit and it turned out well, therefore I decided to just book her service.

↑Shopping shopping din pag may time.

On August 21, we went to Makati for our rings. Again, I learned about this supplier in the Girltalk forum. Yes, that’s my go-to forum hehe. I also communicated with the owners via FB chat prior going there to make sure that they would be available to accommodate us on this day. I have a general ring design but I am open to other designs that we may like in their display. After deliberating, the h2b and I agreed on a design. It was his choice actually, but I was convinced that his choice was better than mine so I gave in haha. I am not good at anything artsy-artsy and design related so it’s really a challenge for me to decide on such things.

Together with the rings, we will be getting dummy rings and also arrhaes. Yay! The dummy rings will be used during the procession. This is to ensure that the rings won’t get lost in the process given that it will be kids who will be holding it hehe. It will be replaced with the real one by the maid of honor or best man once in front. I didn’t know about this haha.

↑Maaraw sa labas. Pwede ring palimos po hehe.

I went home to Baguio as well on the weekend for another round of wedding errands.

On August 25, I mett with the BFF and his brother to discuss about decoration options for the church plus boquets and corsages and buttonaires and flower girl baskets and flowers to use. Too many things to decide on nyahahaha! But at least we already have a list of options for the flowers. I just want a simple design. Nothing fancy. We also met again on Sunday for a quick occular of the church.

Still on August 25, the BFF and I went to the gowns and suits rental to supposedly finalize our options. But I had second thoughts after meeting with the handler because I flet it was expensive and I am not sure if I want to spend that much on rentals. For instance, I need to add 1k per pax if the guys will be wearing suits. 1k/pax? Seriously?! When I discussed this with the h2b during our dinner the next day, he thinks it’s also expensive so we’re deferring the rental option for now and see if we can just buy in Divisoria or some shops in Baguio for a cheaper price.

On August 26, I also showed the h2b some options about cusotmized cords, bible, candles and rosary. He was shocked. San ko raw ba pinagkukuha mga yun hahahaha! Well, I got the idea about customized cords when an ex-officemate showed me their customized cords. I forgot about it actually but I came across a blog about it and that lead me to the supplier who I’ve been communicating with. And of course I saw customized candles, bible and rosary in her products so, why not chocnut? Hehe. Anyway, the h2b agreed to have some customized items and we already agreed on which designs to take based on the options given by the supplier. I haven’t placed the orders yet but will be doing that soon.

I was supposed to stay in Baguio until Monday but I cannot stand the strong rains! And so I decided to just go back to Manila on Sunday evening because I am done with my errands.

↑Date night first.

Wedding errands to be continued this weekend!

I am just grateful that the h2b is very helpful in our wedding preparations. He shares his opinions about things that I discuss with him. And I discuss with him all the nitty-gritty details. He is also supportive of some things I want to happen even if these are new to him hehe. I am proud to say that so far, everything that we’ve accomplished are both our choices, down to the smallest details. I hope it remains this way until we’ve crossed out everything in our list.

There are still a lot to do like my gown fitting, invites, misalettes, programs, how to decorate our small yard for the reception and so on. But we’ll cross these out one at a time SOON.

The end.

P.S. I will be sharing our suppliers after the wedding. But if someone comes across this blog and wants to know, just leave your email in the comments section and I’ll get back to you.

2018 Week 33: KDrama Mode

August 13-19, 2018

I am happy that the contract for one of the projects has been approved and we were able to start the requirements gathering already. One more contract to work on and we’re off to do all the nitty-gritty leg work.

I was supposed to do general cleaning last weekend. However, I got hooked with the Korean series What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim. It has 16 episodes and I completed it from Saturday late afternoon to Sunday evening hehe.

I liked the fast-paced plots. There were some plots that I found corny though. And I was literally covering my eyes on the scene with the kidnapper and kids hahahaha! But it was a feel-good series overall.

I was able to still do some household chores in the evening so it was not all bum weekend haha.

I fetched the BF at the terminal as we had errands in Manila on Aug. 20-21. Yes, taking advantage of his Monday rest day, my sandwiched workday (so I took a leave) and a holiday hehehe.

The end.

2018 Week 32: English Training

August 6-12, 2018

Yung totoo lang. Bakit halos kalahati na uli ng August ang natapos na? Dati naman Ber months yung mabibilis ah. Kaloka.

Anyway, last Monday to Wednesday, we had a customized English training for 4 hours each day. While English is a common language, it doesn’t hurt to still train once in a while. What I liked most is the role playing with work scenarios which we are familiar with. After the short play, we critic our performance and our teammates provide their feedback too. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to role play because of lack of time. Overall, the training was helpful because I have realized some things that I am currently doing which needs corrections.

Gosh, the non-stop rain over the weekend was crazy. Flooding all around. I hope those that were affected would be able to cope up and move on eventually.

I saw in my news feed about the garbage along Roxas Boulevard that was thrown back over by Manila Bay. When will we ever learn about proper waste disposal? Mother Nature is throwing back at us trash that we’re carelessly threw away that reached the seas. Sigh.

I also saw a video about a child who was beaten up by her step mother (as per the video). I cannot understand why other people can do that to innocent children. Why? Just why? But what hurts more is that when the kid was asked if she loves her father, she said yes even if he is hurting her too. Shame on you, adults.

Anyway, I went to the mall to quickly shop for some food for the week. And I think this is the only productive thing I did this weekend hahaha.

Have a great week ahead.

2018 Week 31: Wedding Errands

July 30-August 5, 2018

I went home to Baguio for some wedding-related errands and I am glad it was a productive weekend.

Here are the items in my list.

  • St. Paul, Tuba for Baptismal Certificate for Marriage Purposes – went here on Saturday but office was closed. Went back on Sunday only to find out that my name, my dad’s family name, and my mom’s family name were misspelled. I need an affidavit according to the secretary. But the BF, who works in another church, said that I only need to fill out a form. That I have to clarify again with the St. Paul secretary. So, fail. Olats.
  • Baguio Cathedral for Confirmation Certificate for Marriage Purposes – was able to get this on the same day. Paid Php 50.00. Yey!
  • Goldust Creations – they’ve got it all hahaha. They’re not my suppliers yet. I just wanted to get quotations on the rates of their services. Besides, I still don’t know my color scheme is at that point hik hik hik.
  • Meet with photographer and make-up artist for contracts – I started looking for photographers in April and made the final decision last June, with the contract already reviewed and downpayment paid. I just had to meet with her for the signed contract.
  • Meet up with make-up artist for contract – she was one of the names given by the photographer end of June. Among the 3 that I contacted all at the same time, she was the one I liked the most. It took me 10 days to decide though hahaha. Contract was also already reviewed prior the meeting. I just had to meet her for the signed copy. She was gracious enough to wait until both the photographer and I were available for meet-up. She’s friends with the photographer and they are both in the same industry so it was also a catch-up time for them. We spent more than an hour at the coffee shop and so far, I had an easy and comfortable time with them. We discussed a lot of things, even non-wedding-related. At this point, I’m glad I booked them hehehe.
  • House for preparation – I started checking this out last April but the owner said they are only accepting reservations for December in August. And so last weekend, I visited the house to check. Fortunately, I liked it so I booked it right away. So, yay!

Pictures!

↑It was just supposed to be me and the teenager niece on Sunday but the little one insisted on coming along. They requested to eat at Krispy Kreme but I didn’t order anything for myself because ya know, diet :p.

↑The church nearing its completion. I am fervently praying that this will be completed before the big day. Well, the priest announced during the mass that the blessing will be on November 30 so please, Lord, let it be November 30 and no more postponement.

2018 Week 30: Design Thinking | New Implementation

July 23-29, 2018

We attended a seminar last Thursday. It was sponsored by PMI Philippines. The venue was in Discovery Suites Ortigas so I requested the boss if I can work from home so that I can just walk to the venue in the evening hehe.

It was about Design Thinking. It was very informative for me. It usually involves a process. This is a good strategy to use for projects whose goals and methods are unknown. Startups can leverage on this method while they are not yet clear on what products to put in the market.

The weekend was spent at home playing FarmVille (yes, adik pa rin), doing some household chores and catching on sleep because for some reason, I have been going home late almost all of last week.

I was also looped in in a new account implementation. While it is still in its early stages and I cannot really relate because this is totally new to me, I will still attend the weekly meetings because this will be an added knowledge. I have always wondered how account implementations are done and here is the opportunity. Kailangan nga lang tiisin ang 12-1AM na meeting haha.Once a week lang naman so that’s fine. And I can take it at home.

Lastly, I need to remind myself that it’s only 5 months to go before December at kailangan ko na talagang i-pressure ang sarili kong kumilos-kilos na. Well, I have already ticked off a few items in my list pero sangkatutak pa ang walang check mark kaya kilos-kilos na OMG. Hehe.

The end.
