2017 Week 9: Internment | 50 Years | Panagbenga Finale

February 27 – March 5, 2017

I miss cross stitching in the mornings. The project we are working on was on its user acceptance testing phase last week so we were working with our testers for at least 4 hours per day. Most of them also work on graveyard shift so we had to adjust our shifts as well. It was tiring to be juggling more than 10 testers and addressing their questions one after the other. Pagoda cold wave lotion at hagardo versoza talaga. But I will do anything just to deploy this piece so that hopefully, it will be on its own moving forward and no need to baby it. Hay.

We still have the deployment before I can have a deep sigh of relief. Crossing my fingers and praying to all the angels in heaven that there won’t be glitches.

So there, no time for cross stitching because I opted to sleep and rest on my free time.

Anyway, moving on.

I was in Baguio last weekend yey!

It was my college BFF’s dad’s internment. Awww, Papsy huhuhu. I feel sad for my friend. And I am glad that I was able to spend even just a few hours with her and her family. It is her first loss of an immediate family member so I know what she feels even if she’s showing a strong stance. And I am so touched that her siblings still remember me because it has been years since the last time I have seen most of them.

After the funeral, I met up with my tita and her daughter to go to Session Road in Bloom. Session Road in Bloom is part of the Panagbenga Festival and for the whole of last week, Session Road was closed to vehicles to give way for booths selling different goods. There were a lot of people so that we just practically walked up and down Session Road, making a few stops to buy puto bumbong, ice cream, earrings for my maarteng niece, and singkamas.

Sunday was BF-GF time, well at least after his shift. He and some parishioners were invited to a 50th Wedding anniversary celebration at lunch time and he tagged me along. Good thing that I know the couple way back in the ’90s because we were schoolmates with their kids, so it was not so awkward going to their home hihihi.

But wow! 50 years! I am always amazed ever time I hear about couples who are able to stick with each other that long. That’s practically more than half of their lives. Salute to them.

After the BF’s shift, we went to where else? See Session Road in Bloom again hehehehe. But we were getting tired walking around with a lot of people also trying to catch the last day so we decided to just eat hehehe. We went to Max’s because this was the first we saw that was not yet full haha. But since I love their sizzling tofu, it was a good choice for me.

Just after dinner, the fireworks started! The fireworks was the finale to the Panagbenga Festival. *Cheese alert* Hay sobrang kinilig ako during this time. We were just in the middle of Session Road, holding hands, while watching the fireworks. Bow.

There was a concert going on too so we stayed for a while as we had spare time to watch and take some wefies before my scheduled trip.

And that’s it.

May bunging sutil!

Peace yo!

We or he needs more practice for wefies hahaha!

2017 Week 5: Celebrations with Friends

January 30 – February 5, 2017

My weekend was hectic and even if I was not feeling well, I went to all my appointments hehehe.

Speaking of being sick muna, I’m not sure why. The only valid cause I can think of was that I slept late but also woke up late so that was still 6-7 hours of sleep. Or maybe I caught a virus from someone. Or sadyang ganito talaga pag tumatanda na. Tsk tsk tsk. Hmp!

Anyway, going back.

I met with 2 of my babies (former office mates) for lunch on Saturday. One already has a baby, the other one recently got married (but hubby is in the US, hence still has free time hehe), but we wanted to meet up so…We went to Chili’s because this was the only place without a line at lunch time hehe. Gusto lang talaga namin magchismisan kahit ilang oras lang.

In the evening, I met with another group of friends because it was time to watch Wicked! We booked our tickets last July 2016 and we were all surprised last week when one realized that our schedule was last Saturday hehehe.

The show was great! But I need to watch Wizzard of Oz. To be honest, I don’t have any idea about Wicked prior the show. Basta ang alam ko lang, musical sya hehehe. So review ako pabaliktad hehehehe.

Waiting for the play to start

After the show, we all headed home. Buti na lang wala nang nagyaya pa ng gimik. I just packed my things because I went home to Baguio for some errands too hehehe. Di na nga lang ako nakauwi sa bahay. Sa bus terminal na rin ako nagfreshen up. I just met up with my brother at the terminal to hand him the Baclaran goodies. I met up with my other brother in church to hand him the cash he needs for our project. Tipong hello, goodbye kasi bigla akong tinawag dahil nagstart na ang binyag hehehe.

Yes, it was my childhood friend’s son’s baptism at ginawa akong official ninang na lang in exchange of the one who wasn’t able to attend dahil sa Pampanga pa manggagaling. He is my nth inaanak. Di ko na sure pang-ilan sya. Di naman sobrang dami pero more than 10 na rin ata hahaha.

The reception was at a restaurant on top of Pugis, La Trinidad. Nauuso na rin sa amin ito. Dati kasi, luto sa bahay. Pero I think mas ok na rin ito. No hassle to prepare food. Walang mapapagod. Wala ring mag-ooverstay sa bahay hehehehe.

Sorry baby. Ninang is afraid to hold you for long because you might cry hehehe.

Yes, baby? Why the brooding look?

The BF and I had the chance to go out for dinner before I went back to Manila.

Ok. Ganito kasi yun. Reklamo sya ng reklamo tuwing pinapakuha ko ng picture kasi nakakahiya daw pero pag hawak na nya ang camera, trigger happy naman. Ako na yung nagpapahinto sa kanya. Hmp! Arti :p

Kuracha. Tiring but all worth it.

Effort din talaga ang friendships. Like any relationship, we also have to work on it to nurture it, especially if these are friends to keep for life.

My boss gave me this. Giveaway daw nung namakyaw sya sa baby sale. Typical sweet corn chips. Ang weird lang ng feeling na for moms-to-be sya eh hindi pa naman ako yun hahahaha. I-share ko na rin lang in case may buntis na napadpad dito hehehe.

Nutritious snack for moms-to-be.

The end.

Have a great week ahead.

2016 Week 12 Recap: Holy Week Break

March 21-27, 2016

I hope you all had a meaningful Holy Week.

I had two days of work last week since I took the day off on March 23. We are struggling with debugging some reports because we have restricted access to the vendor’s server and we are highly dependent on our US counterpart. I feel helpless and frustrated until now especially every time I receive replies to my emails saying that they can’t quite get what I mean by so and so. Hay. But work is work and so we have to continue finding a way to work best even with a lot of restrictions.

I had a great birthday and I am thankful for another year. I was able to accomplish all that I’ve planned for that day. More details here.

Holy Week Break

After a birthday dinner on Wednesday, I went home to my brother’s place because it was more accessible and safer especially at night. I also spent most of Thursday at my brother’s place. My sister-in-law’s cousin was generous enough and let us to use their car so my brother and his family accompanied me home. Thankful for that because it was easier to run errands (aka buy paint and groceries) and we were able to avoid the downtown traffic hehe. Thanks, kuya. Plus, my nephew had the chance to light candles for his lolo and lola.

On Good Friday, my younger brother and I worked on the gates and railing. We painted it with primer just to control the rust. Just a temporary solution in the meantime that I’m still undecided what color use for the exterior of the house, plus of course the budget is still elusive hehehe.

As there was still daylight, I gathered the weeds that I removed from the backyard last December and placed them all together in one area. I’ll wait for these to decompose and use it for my flower pots.

On Saturday, my tita, tito, brother + kid, cousin +kid visited three sick relatives, two of which are my mother’s brothers and the other one is my mother’s first cousin (our tita) whom she was close to when she was still alive. Two out of three were thinking maybe it was already their time to go hehehe. I suspected that of my uncle, since he’s now the same age when my mom died and he’s next to my mom by birth order. Hay gusto kong batukan mga matatanda. No, they should not be thinking of those things even if they go there eventually. Kanya-kanyang timeline naman yan. Besides, I am not yet ready to face another death in the family. Our tita looks older now as compared to the last time I saw her but still talkative. She said she’ll wait for my wedding and volunteered to walk me down the aisle since she’s not that optimistic anymore to do that for her own daughter because it looks like my cousin does not have the plans of tying the knot soon. Nakaka-pressure naman. Wala pa nga yun sa radar namin (or baka ako lang pala hehehe). Anyway, we’ll see. Pwede bang magfocus na lang po kayo sa pagpapagaling muna?

After the visits, my tita, tito and I attended the Easter vigil mass.

On Sunday, I requested the family to go on a picnic at Burnham. I invited my tita’s family and my cousins’ kids, whoever would like to come. I just want the kids to bond and play and just be kids. It is important for me that they grow up knowing each other so that when they grow old, I hope that they will also be each other’s support system. It’s also my birthday treat to them. Nothing fancy. Rice was cooked at home, and we just bought 2 viands from Good Taste (one of the famous and more affordable restaurants in Baguio), and ice cream. Panulak? Tubig lang hahaha. Tipid mode eh :p.

It was bye Baguio in the evening and back in your arms, Manila at around 2 AM of March 28.

I hope you all had a great week. Cheers to another great week ahead.

It’s my birthday, it’s my birthday 😀🎤🎼🎸

Strawberry shortcake!

Happy birthday to me!!! 37 years! Thank Lord for the gift of life. I am amazed by Your unconditional love, outpouring blessings and project management style. The best! There is nothing more to say than thank you. I am forever grateful.

So I was allowed to take a leave so uwi na agad! Got here around 6:30 AM. Only 4 hours for the whole trip. Saya-saya. First order of the day was to buy return ticket on Easter Sunday. After that, went to Baguio Cathedral for mass. I am now having breakfast at Vizco’s (yes, writing this here). Corned beef meal plus of course I bought myself a slice of strawberry shortcake hehe. Yum!

I’ll drop by a tailoring shop for alterations of some pants and then drop by MOFAMCO (Mothers and Family Multi-Purpose Cooperative) to apply for membership. I hope that would be quick because sleep is knocking again hehe.

Will go home after that errand to catch some sleep and play with nephew. I’m hoping for dinner with the BF tonight to at least celebrate our birthdays together (his will be tomorrow) but let’s see about that. Keeping it as low key as possible since it’s the Holy Week.

Ok, time to dig in to the cake!

Have a blessed and meaningful Holy Week, everyone.

Update: The last in my itinerary pushed through as well. Bitin pero salamat pa rin at natuloy! 🙂 Happy birthay, indeed! Salamat sa Diyos.

Vacation Officially Starts

Good to be home. Chirping birds, colder weather, not wearing a jacket while tolerable, quiet moments, endless stories from nieces, coffee outside, meals outside. BUT…I miss you, Mama and Daddy. Booo!
