2017 Week 13: Birthday Celebrations | Realization | Family Bonding

March 20-26, 2017

Work

I’m not sure if there were other issues reported since I left the office last March 22. I’m not checking until now. I just asked some of my teammates to do this and that shoud issues arise. I was touched because they asked me to just enjoy my birthday leave and they’ll take care of everything while I was gone.

Thank you, teammates.

Weekend

My “weekend” started last March 23. Thank you, boss for approving my request. I was supposed to work from home on March 24 because of the newly deployed system. But upon learning that there were no issues since I left, I requested my boss to just extend my leave on the 24th. Thanks again, boss!

I have a separate post here for our birthday celebration just because.

On Friday, I brought my niece with me on my errands. She did not have classes so she was free to join me. Her teenager sister had their last day of exams last Friday so she cannot join us.

On Friday night, I told my niece that we can go out on Saturday morning to buy ingredients so that she can bake something that she knows. Ano ang sagot sa akin ng teenager? Ayaw daw nya at di nya feel mag-bake kinabukasan.

But since I still wanted to bond with her kasi teenager na nga and I want to get to know her teenage self, I still asked if she would like to go out on Saturday. Mas gusto daw nya yun. Since this day was for her, I asked her what she wanted to do. Food trip daw. Hanep na yan. May nalalaman na silang food trip ngayon.

So food trip it is on Saturday, but not before she completed her chores at home in the morning. We were able to eat/buy and eat at home 5 out of 8 in the list.

Look at the list! I asked her to be more specific where to eat those kaya ganyan kadetalye hahaha. Wrong spelling lang si siomai :p.

Ang mahiwagang food trip list 😀 😀 😀

FoodTrip03252017-2

First stop at Jack’s restaurant for fried chicken and lumpiang shanghai.

FoodTrip03252017-3

Next stop was at McDonald’s for caramel sundae.

We asked her to just stay home on Saturday kasi nga naisama ko na sya ng Friday. Iba raw kinain nya. At mas nauna pang maligo at magbihis kesa sa aming dapat lalabas hahaha!

Pero how can tita say no? I’m taking advantage of every opportunity kasing clingy pa sila sa akin because I’m sure darating ang time na di na sila sasama sa akin hahaha!

But actually, the original plan for Saturday was for us to hike Mt. Cabuyao. However, someone died in our barangay and as per practice, we cannot just pass by their home anytime, especially that the burial was last Saturday afternoon. As in, pag dumaan kami don pag uuwi na, we have to make sure that at least na tapos na ang libing. So wag na lang muna. Maybe we can do that on Holy Week instead.

Sunday was lunch with siblings at Good Taste. It is always noisy when my nieces and nephew are together but it’s a happy noise so I can tolerate that hahaha.

My childhood friend who now lives in another municipality in Benguet was in Baguio with her son so we met up at church and I asked her to join us for lunch for more chika time hehehehe.

BabyB3

Baby B! Medyo big boy na.

About my realization…the moment I arrived home on Thursday, I felt something that I have been waiting to feel comfortable about for the longest time. I guess it means I’m now ready if ever it happens. We’ll see how it turns out this year.

Ok, I think that is everything for last week.

Happy Birthday to Us!

Birthday 2017 Edition

I arrived in Baguio in the morning of March 23 just in time to catch the early morning mass at the Baguio Cathedral. After that, I went to Vizco’s for breakfast. Of course I also ate my birthday cake which I ordered myself :p.

I went home to sleep until 12 noon.

I requested the BF that we go out for dinner to celebrate our birthdays. His is on the 24th. We cannot think of anywhere to go so I suggested that we just go to Forest House again, the same place that we went to during our birthday dinner last year. I thought of going there because maybe we can make it as a yearly tradition and they have a free slice of birthday chocolate cake with a beautiful design so no need to order dessert hihihi.

OfficeCake

Early birthday surprise from my teammates last March 22! Not just once but twice akong kinantahan hahaha.

Dusk

What it was like when we arrived at the restaurant. Beautiful evening for a sumptuous birthday dinner.

Birthday cake. If we’ll have this again next year, I’ll ask the staff to put a date or at least the current year hehehe.

“Tita, The School Met Us to Discuss Graduation…”

Magha-hibernate on my birthday.  😀  😀  😀

Pusang gala. Shocked is an understatement.

Single mom pa sya at neneng-nene nung nagka-anak. I’m not privy to their set up ng magulang nya pero given na yan na mahirap i-balance ang everything.

Buti na lang sa May pa ang graduation kasi may OJT pa sila. So may time pa para mag-ipon kasi syempre di lang naman yun ang gagastusin nya. May pamasahe pa sila ng nanay nya, damit, sapatos, muk-ap at syempre pang-buffet! Hehehehe. Kailangan kasama ang pagkain. This is a celebration!!!

Pero akalain mo yun, 2 years na pala since nagstart sya with her associate degree.

I’ll have my chance with my own kids in the future hehe.

Good news for a potential windfall. Pag natuloy yun, solved ang budget hahahaha.

Pero yung talagang totoong totoo, sobrang thankful ako na nagpursigi sya kahit nasermonan ko sya ng bongga the first time she did something offensive. Sobrang galit talaga ako that time pero nanalig pa rin akong di naman na siguro uulit so pwede pa ang second chance. And again, I’m glad I did that. Hehehehe.

Thank you, Lord for guiding us all in this journey.

Bow.

2017 Week 12: Work Updates | Birthdays | Movie and Shopping

March 13-19, 2017

Today is March 20. Happy birthday in heaven, Daddy! Missing you and Mama always.

I received another news from my niece last week but that will be for another post.

Work

While it was not a seamless implementation because there were some things that we missed, we were able to fix what needs to be fixed. And it has been so quiet since after we sent out that advise that the system is already accessible. While I’d like to rejoice, I’m also panicking a little because I know that people will again do what they are supposed to do close to the deadline and that’s where questions will come in. And that deadline is this Thursday, on my birthday, where I so wanted to take a leave. The least I could do is to request their directors to upload and verify as early as they can.

On the other side of things, at least I’m now on a new project.

Weekend

A friend and I watched Beauty and the Beast! What a fantastic movie. Emma Watson is all grown-up and I must say, she’s a brilliant actress. And I didn’t know she can sing! I’m a little sad for the beast/prince because he has a little exposure as the good-looking prince hehehehe.

Since the birthday is fast approaching, we went to Dohtonbori Greenhills after for an early dinner. I saw their version of 4 cheese pizza in my FB feed last October 2016 and I wanted to try it since then and I finally had that chance last weekend.

We tried 4 dishes: Beef gyudon, Umigo okonomiyaki, Quatro Formaggi, and Mixed monjayaki. Everything was so flavorful and yummy!

Since I booked for a table reservation via the Booky mobile app around 3 hours prior, and since our bill reached Php 1,000.00, we were entitled to a Php 100 discount. A discount is still a discount!  😉

We went back to Megamall to look for some sweets. We were looking for ice cream when we saw Magnum and Magnum it is. I can’t remember the last time I ate this but it’s been more than a year for sure. And I’m good not to taste it again for years after last Sunday hehehe.

I checked out some office blouses and I was able to buy 2 out of the many that I tried. The blouses were also at 10% off so again, a discount is still a discount hehe. I need to replace some of the blouses I own because of obvious wear and tear…

I went home after to catch the Sunday shows until the wee hours of the morning. Bad habit on a Sunday given that Monday is a workday. Also, I saw some items in O Shopping that I wanted – the ilo multi cooker set and the Pasabahce dinnerware. Not good for my wallet. Today, I tried searching for reviews of the products but I cannot find one so my interest is slowly diminishing hahaha. Good! But I still want the multi cooker set hehehehe.

Anyway, pictures.

This is Umigo, the Five Seafood Okonomiyaki. I forgot to take a picture right after it was cooked. Cooking time took about 15 minutes.

Dohtonbori4

This is Quatro Formaggi, their version of 4-cheese pizza with pancake as the base. This is oh so yummy!

Dohtonbori5

Mixed monja. According to the server, this is usually used as a side dish when drinking and best taken if toasted. It’s a mix of vegetables and some seafood and we ate it straight from the pan.

The end.

Have a great week ahead.

2017 Week 10: Internment | 50 Years | Panagbenga Finale

February 27 – March 5, 2017

I miss cross stitching in the mornings. The project we are working on was on its user acceptance testing phase last week so we were working with our testers for at least 4 hours per day. Most of them also work on graveyard shift so we had to adjust our shifts as well. It was tiring to be juggling more than 10 testers and addressing their questions one after the other. Pagoda cold wave lotion at hagardo versoza talaga. But I will do anything just to deploy this piece so that hopefully, it will be on its own moving forward and no need to baby it. Hay.

We still have the deployment before I can have a deep sigh of relief. Crossing my fingers and praying to all the angels in heaven that there won’t be glitches.

So there, no time for cross stitching because I opted to sleep and rest on my free time.

Anyway, moving on.

I was in Baguio last weekend yey!

It was my college BFF’s dad’s internment. Awww, Papsy huhuhu. I feel sad for my friend. And I am glad that I was able to spend even just a few hours with her and her family. It is her first loss of an immediate family member so I know what she feels even if she’s showing a strong stance. And I am so touched that her siblings still remember me because it has been years since the last time I have seen most of them.

After the funeral, I met up with my tita and her daughter to go to Session Road in Bloom. Session Road in Bloom is part of the Panagbenga Festival and for the whole of last week, Session Road was closed to vehicles to give way for booths selling different goods. There were a lot of people so that we just practically walked up and down Session Road, making a few stops to buy puto bumbong, ice cream, earrings for my maarteng niece, and singkamas.

Sunday was BF-GF time, well at least after his shift. He and some parishioners were invited to a 50th Wedding anniversary celebration at lunch time and he tagged me along. Good thing that I know the couple way back in the ’90s because we were schoolmates with their kids, so it was not so awkward going to their home hihihi.

But wow! 50 years! I am always amazed ever time I hear about couples who are able to stick with each other that long. That’s practically more than half of their lives. Salute to them.

After the BF’s shift, we went to where else? See Session Road in Bloom again hehehehe. But we were getting tired walking around with a lot of people also trying to catch the last day so we decided to just eat hehehe. We went to Max’s because this was the first we saw that was not yet full haha. But since I love their sizzling tofu, it was a good choice for me.

Just after dinner, the fireworks started! The fireworks was the finale to the Panagbenga Festival. *Cheese alert* Hay sobrang kinilig ako during this time. We were just in the middle of Session Road, holding hands, while watching the fireworks. Bow.

There was a concert going on too so we stayed for a while as we had spare time to watch and take some wefies before my scheduled trip.

And that’s it.

Pictures!
