2017 Week 9: Internment | 50 Years | Panagbenga Finale

February 27 – March 5, 2017

I miss cross stitching in the mornings. The project we are working on was on its user acceptance testing phase last week so we were working with our testers for at least 4 hours per day. Most of them also work on graveyard shift so we had to adjust our shifts as well. It was tiring to be juggling more than 10 testers and addressing their questions one after the other. Pagoda cold wave lotion at hagardo versoza talaga. But I will do anything just to deploy this piece so that hopefully, it will be on its own moving forward and no need to baby it. Hay.

We still have the deployment before I can have a deep sigh of relief. Crossing my fingers and praying to all the angels in heaven that there won’t be glitches.

So there, no time for cross stitching because I opted to sleep and rest on my free time.

Anyway, moving on.

I was in Baguio last weekend yey!

It was my college BFF’s dad’s internment. Awww, Papsy huhuhu. I feel sad for my friend. And I am glad that I was able to spend even just a few hours with her and her family. It is her first loss of an immediate family member so I know what she feels even if she’s showing a strong stance. And I am so touched that her siblings still remember me because it has been years since the last time I have seen most of them.

After the funeral, I met up with my tita and her daughter to go to Session Road in Bloom. Session Road in Bloom is part of the Panagbenga Festival and for the whole of last week, Session Road was closed to vehicles to give way for booths selling different goods. There were a lot of people so that we just practically walked up and down Session Road, making a few stops to buy puto bumbong, ice cream, earrings for my maarteng niece, and singkamas.

Sunday was BF-GF time, well at least after his shift. He and some parishioners were invited to a 50th Wedding anniversary celebration at lunch time and he tagged me along. Good thing that I know the couple way back in the ’90s because we were schoolmates with their kids, so it was not so awkward going to their home hihihi.

But wow! 50 years! I am always amazed ever time I hear about couples who are able to stick with each other that long. That’s practically more than half of their lives. Salute to them.

After the BF’s shift, we went to where else? See Session Road in Bloom again hehehehe. But we were getting tired walking around with a lot of people also trying to catch the last day so we decided to just eat hehehe. We went to Max’s because this was the first we saw that was not yet full haha. But since I love their sizzling tofu, it was a good choice for me.

Just after dinner, the fireworks started! The fireworks was the finale to the Panagbenga Festival. *Cheese alert* Hay sobrang kinilig ako during this time. We were just in the middle of Session Road, holding hands, while watching the fireworks. Bow.

There was a concert going on too so we stayed for a while as we had spare time to watch and take some wefies before my scheduled trip.

And that’s it.

May bunging sutil!

Peace yo!

We or he needs more practice for wefies hahaha!

2017 Week 8: Losses and a Birthday Celebration

February 20-26, 2017

Puyat days are hear again at work. Hay. After this, please sana magpakatino ka na, project, at please users, magpakatino rin kayo and be diligent in your tasks hehehehe.

Anyway, last Saturday, my friend and I went out to watch 50 Shades Darker. No black circles to cover some scenes this time. But I honestly cannot recall most of the scenes in the movie based on what I read in the book because I read books 1 and 2 in 2012 If I remember correctly. And yes, until now, I haven’t read book 3 yet pero from the movie, alam ko na sino ang salarin hahahaha.

After the movie, we went to Sambokojin for buffet to celebrate her birthday! Let me just say that we never learn. From our previous buffet sessions, di na namin nasusulit ang bayad namin kasi first plate pa lang na iilang dishes lang ang laman, busog na kami. So we agreed that the next time we would like to eat out, we’ll just go to places we haven’t tried before.

On Sunday, I went to my SIL’s place in Tagaytay to attend the funeral of her sister. Biglaang pagkamatay. Atake daw sa puso. She died a day before the 1st death anniversary of their mom, and my nephew’s birthday.

Our bunso also went. Yung funeral nila, we walked for about 2KMs to the chapel where the mass was held.

My college BFF’s father also passed away last Sunday. What a Feb. I often go to their home during college days during our long breaks in between classes. They opened their home to me and treated me as their own daughter kahit kaibigan lang ako ng anak nila. Thank you, Popsy for everything. I know that you are now with our Creator. And I know that even if you are gone, you will still be an angel to your kids and grand kids. See you on Saturday po.

March na. Ang bilis naman talaga ng araw. Bakit?!

2017 Week 5: Celebrations with Friends

January 30 – February 5, 2017

My weekend was hectic and even if I was not feeling well, I went to all my appointments hehehe.

Speaking of being sick muna, I’m not sure why. The only valid cause I can think of was that I slept late but also woke up late so that was still 6-7 hours of sleep. Or maybe I caught a virus from someone. Or sadyang ganito talaga pag tumatanda na. Tsk tsk tsk. Hmp!

Anyway, going back.

I met with 2 of my babies (former office mates) for lunch on Saturday. One already has a baby, the other one recently got married (but hubby is in the US, hence still has free time hehe), but we wanted to meet up so…We went to Chili’s because this was the only place without a line at lunch time hehe. Gusto lang talaga namin magchismisan kahit ilang oras lang.

In the evening, I met with another group of friends because it was time to watch Wicked! We booked our tickets last July 2016 and we were all surprised last week when one realized that our schedule was last Saturday hehehe.

The show was great! But I need to watch Wizzard of Oz. To be honest, I don’t have any idea about Wicked prior the show. So review ako pabaliktad hehehehe.

Waiting for the play to start

After the show, we all headed home. I just packed my things because I went home to Baguio for some errands too hehehe. I just met up with my brother at the terminal to hand him the Baclaran goodies. I met up with my other brother in church to hand him the cash he needs for our project.

Yes, it was my childhood friend’s son’s baptism at ginawa akong official ninang na lang in exchange of the one who wasn’t able to attend dahil sa Pampanga pa manggagaling. He is my nth inaanak. Di ko na sure pang-ilan sya. Di naman sobrang dami pero more than 10 na rin ata hahaha.

The reception was at a restaurant on top of Pugis, La Trinidad. Nauuso na rin sa amin ito. Dati kasi, luto sa bahay. Pero I think mas ok na rin ito. No hassle to prepare food. Walang mapapagod. Wala ring mag-ooverstay sa bahay hehehehe.

Sorry baby. Ninang is afraid to hold you for long because you might cry hehehe.

Yes, baby? Why the brooding look?

The BF and I had the chance to go out for dinner before I went back to Manila.

Ok. Ganito kasi yun. Hmp! Arti :p

Kuracha. Tiring but all worth it.

Effort din talaga ang friendships. Like any relationship, we also have to work on it to nurture it, especially if these are friends to keep for life.

My boss gave me this. Giveaway daw nung namakyaw sya sa baby sale. Typical sweet corn chips.

Nutritious snack for moms-to-be.

The end.

Have a great week ahead.

2017 Week 4: A Quick Visit to Cavite

January 23-29, 2017

Saturday was spent mostly at home and a few hours at the mall.I was looking for nude shoes but nothing caught my attention. However, I tried checking out the items on sale at Kickers and was able to score one that I like that’s discounted for 50% so I just paid Php 1,420.00. I know Kickers is expensive so I don’t normally check out this brand. But it’s good to know that they can give discounts as high as 50% because there is another pair that I tried but it’s more expensive so I did not buy it. Maybe some other time if I get lucky.

New shoes which I hope will last me for years. I have high expectations for this brand given that their normal prices are expensive.

On Sunday, a friend and I went to Cavite to attend our other friend’s son’s baptism. It was held the Holy Family Church at Lancaster New City. If I remember correctly, this was the location of the reality show “I Do” some years back.

Anyway, we got lost because we boarded the wrong bus at the South terminal plus the conductor forgot that the driver should drop us off somewhere along the way so that we can ride the correct bus. We had to go back via a mini bus (the conductor called it baby bus hehe). We eventually found the place.

However, because of the several transfers and the expensive tricycle fare goint to the chapel, we realized that it would have been better if we just took Uber.

The reception was at Kinamot Restaurant that’s also in Lancaster. We feasted on at least 5 Pinoy dishes. Busog lusog to the max. I liked the ambiance because it’s a picnic by the nipa huts.

We left right after lunch. This time, we tried Uber because all buses were full. Luckily, there was one available. While it’s more expensive, at least we were back in Manila by 3 PM.

We got off at MRT Taft and proceeded right away to Baclaran to buy some goodies.

We went home after for that much needed rest before another work week.

First time to ride  the famous mini bus in Cavite.

Mini bus

First time in Lancaster New City.

The Holy Family church. The cross is made up of clear glass so that’s natural light coming in.

Kinamot Restaurant which is along the road going to Lancaster New City.

Healthy You Trail Mix

My search for a trail mix go years back when I was still so into hiking.

I cannot find any until recently at S&R. However, I did not like the one I bought.

Last week, I chanced upon Healthy You Trail Mix so I bought one to try.

I like this better because the nuts are unsalted hence, you won’t easily go thirsty. Plus I think it’s cheap at Php 180.75 for 450g. That’s less than Php 400.00 for close to 1 kl which is still cheaper than when you create your own trail mix.

It’s exclusively packed for Robinson’s Supermarket but I hope it will also become available on other supermarkets.

The end.

Have a great week ahead, or at least what’s left of this week hehe.

2017 Week 1: Back to the Daily Grind

January 2-8, 2017

Ok, so the holidays are over and so we’re back to the daily grind.

I traveled back to Manila on January 2. Thank you, Lord for a safe trip that night.

Work was just picking up from what we all left when most of us went for that much needed break on the last week of December.

I met with my friend’s family on January 3. They are based in SG now and are here for a visit. We ate at Gangnam Wings at SM Megamall. The store is located at the strip, Mega A side. It specializes on Korean fried chicken.

Our orders:

Fried chicken. I liked the chicken. It’s crispy but not too oily.

Spicy seafood noodle but we requested a less spicy version.

Watermelon with soju. This was refreshing. Good thing they did not mix the soju so we had control on the amount of alcohol to add to the watermelon hehe.

Rock melon bingsu. Fresh fruit and ice cream. Winner!

My friend and I met up on Saturday to catch up on some of the MMFF movies. We watched Die Beautiful, Vince & Kath & James and Sunday Beauty Queen.

Paulo Ballesteros (Die Beautiful) would have been beautiful if he was a woman hehehe.

Vince & Kath & James was really for teens hahaha! It was also ok though. We enjoyed laughing at the crowd’s reactions. There were 2 groups who were quite loud. One is obviously rooting for Vince and the other one for James. While it can get irritating at times, we just had fun laughing at them because their reactions to some of the scenes can really be hilarious hehehe.

The most touching movie for me was Sunday Beauty Queen. This is a documentary about OFWs in Hong Kong. I have seen again that life is not really fair and it gets tough and tougher for some of us. Hence, we should always be thankful for all of our blessings, no matter how small these are.

I went to mass on Sunday and then to the mall as I need to replace some blouses and I was hoping to score some from the end of season sale. Mission accomplished as I was able to buy 3 blouses, which was my goal.

Next stop was the grocery for some supplies before going home.

The end.

Have a great week ahead.
